My dear daughter,
I have worked in the legal field and now the IT field in this big city.
What I have noticed is, no matter the field, incompetent people are often found in positions of power, or managing more competent people.
Those in positions of power are always status driven, however ridiculous or mediocre that status may be. They certainly overrate their own status.
There is a lot of exploitation in both fields, and things could be much better, for everybody (more profitable, even) if people in power weren’t so ignorant or irresponsible.
There is also little accountability in both worlds. People in power regularly screw up and nothing happens to them. If they can, they will drop the blame on a competent worker below them.
They keep workers in poor conditions, poor support, heavy shifts and they expect a lot of them for little return.
