My dear daughter,
It’s impressive how much our minds are prone to confirmation bias. Evolution surely scammed us there.
I wonder if there is a way to safely automatize all rational decisions – from personnel hiring to what kind of food we should grow – in a reliable system not hijacked by the influences of financial capitalism or extreme ideologies.
Confirmation bias produces too much injustice nowadays. It should be mandatory to take alleviating measures whenever we can objectively identify bias.
There’s too many people placed in positions of power by sheer chance making everyone else believe they have talent or worked harder, when it couldn’t be farther from the truth.
And too many poor people suffer because the rest of us simply believe they didn’t work harder.
